Sheer Fuschia

One room that I've really had the most trouble envisioning is what I like to call my dressing room.

My house will have four bedrooms. With no children or husband, I really only need one. So instead of turning one into an office, I've decided I'd rather have a dressing room- basically a walk-in closet made out of a bedroom.

I've had soooo many ideas.

Chevron walls? Striped walls? Two walls in two different colors?

Gray and yellow? Teal and pink? Aqua and brown?

I've finally decided on fuchsia and sky blue (which will probably become more of an aqua).

Here are the two pictures I'm using for inspiration:

Better Homes and Gardens
This one caught my eye months and months ago- I just can't get it out of my head! In general I am a lover of 'cool' colors so this really appeals to me.

I've decided to paint three walls a sky blue color and also have fuchsia accents in the room. I'm really thinking about painting the inside of the closet fuchsia for a surprise pop of color as well.

The fourth wall is inspired by the picture below.

Although I plan on doing a chevron pattern instead of stripes (hmm, blue and white chevron pattern seems so....familiar), there is something about these colors together that makes me feel peaceful. I want to walk into each room of my house and smile every time.

So the fourth wall will be the sky blue and white in a chevron pattern- since I hope to have white trim in the entire house, I think it will have a nice effect.

For my first dressing room purchase, I bough these sheer fuchsia curtain panels with grommets from Moshell's.

I got them for $5.99 each which you just can't beat. I read a lot of bad reviews about this company- that it was a scam, that they sent all wrong products, that they gave fake tracking numbers, etc. But for me, I bought two curtain panels for less than $20 and received the correct items in five days. Satisfied.

The curtains are my starting point and I'll start to plan around that.

Next up, I'll be looking at paint swatches.
