My mom tried it with a decorative plate and a candlestick she spray painted to match.
I went even cheaper and used a $1 glass candlestick and $1 silver plate from the Dollar Tree.
I haven't actually glued them together because I don't actually have a house yet and they are easier to store flat. But with a little E600 glue, look how cute it will be:
